Vogueish offers a curated selection of pre-owned designer items, aiming to make luxury shopping more accessible and more sustainable. The online platform works to extend the lifecycle of every product through upkeep and, if necessary, refurbishment, ensuring pieces stay in circulation for longer.
“Luxury goods are made to last, and that longevity is key to reducing waste,” says founder Claudia de Klerk. “By extending a designer item’s lifecycle, we honour its craftsmanship and reduce the pressure on manufacturing new goods. It’s a win for both the environment and the consumer.”
Vogueish offers a rental service and allows customers to sell pieces through the platform too, adding to its circular ethos.
Each item is meticulously authenticated, both digitally and physically, to ensure customers receive genuine luxury goods. Vogueish’s strict authenticity policy includes an unconditional lifetime 100% money-back guarantee. For an additional fee, they offer a third-party authentication certificate.
In addition to its online platform, Vogueish also has a showroom in Cape Town’s CBD, where customers can access styling advice and receive assistance with their purchases.

What inspired you to start Vogueish?
I’ve always had a deep love for fashion, not just trends, but the emotion, craftsmanship, and stories behind beautiful pieces. Vogueish was born from a desire to make luxury more accessible, conscious, and circular in a space that inspires — a space that makes people buy pre-owned because they want to.
While international resale platforms were gaining traction, South Africa lacked a curated, trustworthy space to buy, sell, or rent authenticated luxury items. I saw a lack of community celebrating conscious luxury, and wanted to shift perceptions of second-hand from stigma to status.
Has your vision changed since launching?
The core vision remains, but it’s evolved. Initially, Vogueish was about resale; now, it’s about building a lifestyle brand rooted in sustainability, storytelling, and community. It’s no longer just an e-commerce platform – it’s a movement for conscious luxury in South Africa.
Who is the Vogueish customer?
A discerning fashion lover who curates their wardrobe with intention. They appreciate timeless pieces, seek meaningful purchases, and value owning items with history and character. Many are young professionals, creatives, and collectors who want their wardrobe to make a statement, aesthetically and ethically.

You offer authentication services. How important is trust in the resale of luxury items?
Trust is everything. In a market flooded with counterfeits, our authentication process is central to the Vogueish experience. We want customers to feel confident that what they’re buying is genuine, vetted, and worth the investment.
Counterfeit goods are a real challenge. That’s why we stay informed and thorough, keeping up with brand-specific details and working with trusted third-party services. We also aim to educate our community. Trust and integrity are non-negotiable.
We work with a trusted network of private sellers, collectors, and stylists, both locally and occasionally abroad. Every item goes through a strict vetting and curation process. It’s not about volume: it’s about quality, condition, and story.
How do you see Vogueish contributing to sustainable fashion in South Africa?
By giving premium items a second life, we help reduce demand for fast fashion and keep quality pieces in circulation. We’re not just reselling – we’re reshaping habits, encouraging thoughtful consumption, and showing that sustainability can be stylish.
Fashion is a mirror of identity, and second-hand luxury carries stories within it. In South Africa, where history, heritage, and self-expression are deeply intertwined, wearing pre-owned pieces is a way to honour the past while redefining the future.
