Many of the raw materials used in fashion value chains come directly from farms, agriculture, landscapes, and forests. And, we also rely on thriving, balanced, healthy ecosystems to sustain life on Earth. Despite how vital these ecosystems are to our existence, the fast fashion industry continues to threaten biodiverse landscapes through damaging, near-sighted practices.
This keynote address reminds us of the inherent connections between biodiversity, fibres, and fashion, as well as outlining important pathways towards restoring this dynamic balance in the fashion industry.
