The Sewing Café

The Sewing Cafe is a South African NPC that combines sustainable clothing production with skills training and community empowerment. Operating primarily in Masiphumelele and Ocean View, the organisation trains unemployed and unskilled people while producing high-quality basics for other businesses, brands, corporates, and schools. The Sewing Cafe focuses on human- and planet-centric values, producing small, made-to-order batches to limit waste, and supporting local suppliers and artisans.
