What

Growers, makers, processors, designers and textile lovers. This is for you. As the world rapidly changes, you might be feeling overwhelmed by too much new information and finding it difficult to select what’s important for the future of your practice or business now, here. For this reason, we’ve created an event that looks keenly at developments in the fashion and textile industry. We are sifting through what we believe is inspiring and important for a future that is kinder, fairer and in harmony with nature. We are imagining a future that’s sustainable and regenerative for you, your business, our industry, Earth and our fellow sentient beings. The 2024 programme is curated to introduce you to makers and thinkers from South Africa and across the continent who are taking the textile industry forward – often by reflecting on the past – into a positive post fossil fuel future.

This year, the focus of Africa Textile Talks is on inspiring practices that will help us to live in harmony with nature. There will be insightful talks, presentations, exhibits and demonstrations.
